When you say “bread”, what a Lithuanian hears is “rye bread”. Some statistics show that just 20 years ago an average Lithuanian used to eat around 120 kg of rye bread a year. Since, then this number has grown much leaner. However now, that the nutritionists have re-discovered how good bread is for our diet, people are welcoming it back into their lives. Rye bread is back on the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are looking for new varieties of rye breads, we most likely can offer it! ROMANIAN SELECTION

Those who have tried to bake bread at home know how a slight change of hand movement while working the dough transforms the final form of the loaf. A slight variation in the process may result in altered form, flavor and structure of the baked bread.

One should bake bread a hundred times not only to get all measures and data right and, more importantly to get the feeling of the dough: how it moves, falls, sounds… There are no short cuts in this process.

The humble bread bun makes no claims to lusciousness. Yet, when you think of a palm-fitting, crust-embraced cloud of heavenly fresh crumb, a.k.a. miniature bread loaf, there it is! An unsung, charmingly reoccurring hero of the city’s breakfasts and business lunches. What’s more? A nice bun will come in handy for a homemade toast slathered with butter, as well as for an outdoor picnic, along with all the gems one might be tempted to hide in their crust: vegetables, spreads, pesto, cheeses, sausages, etc.

We offer a variety of bread buns that give your imagination and taste buds a lot of options to create new combinations of sweet and savoury sandwiches.

CAKES & CONFECTIONERY

Whether we plan for a big finale or a special occasion dinner, looking for a wow-inducing centerpiece for a party, or wanting to show love and care for the family members after a regular meal, cakes and pastries will be the star of any setting. However, it has not always been that way.

Up to the middle of the 19th century refined sugar, spices, nuts, and dried fruit were very expensive, so it was an honor to be served cake. It represented the best culinary offering, honoring most valued and loved people. Today cake is not super expensive, and we have many choices (store bought, box mix, homemade or made to order by a bakery). Nonetheless, the message remains constant. Cake says: “You are important and we love you”.
